HP: 1500      EXP: 5000      DIFFICULTY:

The Ice Titan is an optional boss in Olympus Coliseum that becomes available after winning the Phil Cup, Pegasus Cup, Hercules Cup, and Hades Cup. When you're ready to take on the Ice Titan, talk to Phil and select the Gold Match. Winning the match will net Sora the Diamond Dust keychain.

Preparing for the Gold Match

It is strongly recommended that Sora is level 65 or higher before attempting this match. Sora should have the Guard ability equipped and a few Elixirs on hand. Having the Glide or Superglide shared ability and Leaf Bracer equipped will work to your advantage. Equip any and all accessories that reduce ice damage, like the Shiva Belt and Blizzara Ring.

You can gain lots of EXP quickly in this fight if you equip all of your Tech Boost abilities!

Phase 1 Strategy

The Ice Titan stays in the center of the arena, hurling ice projectiles at you in numerous forms. Remain locked on to the Ice Titan for the duration of the fight, otherwise the camera will prove to be unwieldy. The most effective way to deal damage to it is to lock-on and Guard against the incoming icicles; this will cause them to fly back and strike the Ice Titan for damage. You can jump or dodge roll to avoid the ice spikes and icicle patterns that are more difficult to deflect.

DO NOT cast Aerora/ga: this will cause the Ice Titan to send more powerful icicles that cannot be blocked for as long as the spell is active.

The Ice Titan will turn to face you periodically, and each step it takes causes a tremor; use Glide to travel above the ground and avoid damage; the tremors won't hit you while on the arena steps. When enough icicles have struck its head, it will stagger and fall to the ground; use this opportunity to land as many hits with the Keyblade as possible; typically, you can deal about three or four aerial combos.

After it recovers, the Ice Titan will release a barrage of icicles. You can superglide or dodge roll around the perimeter of the area to avoid damage; however, if you have the HP to spare, you can position yourself slightly under / behind it and use Guard to send many of the icicles back at the Ice Titan.

If you need to heal, jump in the air before casting Cure magic. This will help prevent you from taking damage from icicles that shoot up from below.

Phase 2 Strategy

After enough HP has been depleted, Ice Titan will introduce new attacks. The large ice orbs that appear over Sora's head can be avoided by running in a single direction or dodge rolling. When it blows a sheet of ice onto the arena steps, jump and glide to avoid slipping. When Ice Titan shakes its arms in frustration, dodge roll or superglide to the side to avoid the large vortex.

The large ice orbs will fall while Ice Titan is turning to face you, and when recovering from being staggered. Otherwise, the overall strategy remains the same: guard against incoming icicles and deal aerial combos when it staggers (which will be a shorter duration each time).
