Throughout Sora's journey, you will learn various magic spells through storyline events and side-quests. There are three levels for each spell that can be acquired. You can use magic spells to gain an advantage during battle or to interact with the environment in certain situations.

Fire Magic

The Fire spell allows Sora or Donald to send a fireball towards a single enemy; the fireball will seek the nearest enemy or whichever target is currently being locked on to. When the spell is upgraded, the fireball increases in size, speed, and damage. You can also use this spell to light furnaces, candles, and campfires in select areas.

Blizzard Magic

The Blizzard spell allows Sora or Donald to send a burst of ice in the direction they are facing; it covers a wider area, so it's effective against several enemies grouped together. When upgraded, the spell increases in size, range, and damage. You can also use this spell to freeze the bubbles in Hollow Bastion.

Thunder Magic

The Thunder spell allows Sora or Donald to call down lightning from above, dealing damage to enemies that are under the casting area; it's most effective against certain airborne enemies. When upgraded, the spell increases in size, range, and damage. You can also use this spell to activate a couple of mechanical parts in certain situations.

Thundara Calls a powerful lightning storm to the target area.

Defeat Ursula II.
Thundaga Calls a great maelstrom of lightning to the target area.
Consumes 1 MP.
Defeat Cerberus in the Hades Cup.

Cure Magic

The Cure spell allows Sora or Donald to heal a selected party member. It's wise to cast this spell on Sora when his HP falls near critical levels. Equip the Leaf Bracer ability to avoid interruption of healing when struck by enemies. When the spell is upgraded, the amount of HP restored is increased.

Defeat Stealth Sneak.
Cura Restores a lot of HP to one character.
Consumes 1 MP.
Defeat Captain Hook.
Curaga Restores a massive amount of HP to one character.
Consumes 1 MP.
Speak to Aerith three times in the library of Hollow Bastion.

Gravity Magic

The Gravity spell allows Sora or Donald to produce a gravity field that removes a percentage of HP from enemies caught in the field; it's most effective against enemies with large amounts of HP (Large Body, Fat Bandit, Battleship, Defender, etc). When the spell is upgraded, the gravity field becomes larger, and more HP is sapped from enemies. This spell can also be used to lower certain platforms.

Complete the Phil Cup (together).
Gravira Wrings a percentage of HP from the target. Wider area of effect.
Consumes 1 MP.
Defeat Oogie's Manor.
Graviga Wrings a percentage of HP from the target. Widest area of effect.
Consumes 1 MP.
Defeat Hades in the Hades Cup.

Stop Magic

The Stop spell allows Sora or Donald to freeze enemies for a short period of time, allowing the party to deal damage without the risk of retaliation. When the spell is upgraded, the number of enemies stopped increases.

Complete the third Torn Page in Hundred Acre Wood.
Stopga Prevents target from taking action for a limited time. Widest area of effect.
Consumes 2 MP.
Defeat Phantom.

The duration of your Stop spell is determined by the maximum number of MP bars Sora has. Equip a Keychain and Accessories that boost your MP for best results!

Aero Magic

The Aero spell allows Sora or Donald to conjure a barrier of wind around a selected party member; this barrier increases the party member's defense. When the spell is upgraded, the duration of the spell increases, and the barrier can stagger enemies and deflect enemy projectiles.

Aerora Deploys a barrier that absorbs damage and damages enemies on contact.
Consumes 2 MP.
In a chest accessible by unsealing the Yellow Trinity in Neverland.
Aeroga Deploys a barrier that absorbs damage and deflects certain attacks.
Consumes 2 MP.
